Substitutions and Variations

Garlic: Fresh garlic or garlic powder adds a strong aroma and flavour to the dip.

Fresh herbs

Parsley: Brightens the flavour of the dip. It has a mild earthy aroma. Parsley is the best choice if you don’t like the strong flavour of coriander leaves.

Mint: The refreshing flavour of mint blends well with the vibrant avocado.

Lemon/lime: Lime juice adds a refreshing flavour and a tang to the dip.

Full fat yogurt or low-fat yogurt

It doesn’t matter whether you use store-bought yogurt or homemade as long as it is thick that yields creamy and thick avocado dip. Do not use low-fat yogurt or thin yogurt as it will ruin the consistency of the dip.

However, low-fat or zero-fat greek yogurt is naturally thick and is perfect to use in this recipe.
