- Carrots: I have used Chantenay carrots but regular baby carrots can be used.
- Seasoning: Salt, pepper.
- Sweetener: I have used maple syrup.
- Herbs: Fresh parsley and dried sage.

How to air fry baby carrots?
Wash carrots well in cold running tap water.
Place carrots in a bowl. Add oil, salt, pepper, sage and maple syrup. Mix well until carrots are coated with oil and seasoning.
Spray or apply oil to the air fryer basket.
Now arrange baby carrots in air fryer basket with a lined baking sheet in a single layer ensuring they don't overlap.
Put the basket in the air fryer, set the temperature to 200C (400F) for 14 minutes and air fry baby carrots.
Take the basket out of the air fryer half way through roasting, shake well, put it back and continue cooking.
Once the timer goes off, take the basket out of the air fryer.
Enjoy delicious air fryer roasted carrots with a dip or with any main meal.
Variations and Substitutions
Garlic: Freshly minced garlic or garlic powder could be used. However, I would suggest adding them halfway through cooking. Adding garlic at the beginning might get burnt and mask the true flavours of seasoned carrots.
Sweetener: Brown sugar, agave syrup or any sweetener could be used instead of maple syrup.

Ground cumin adds a lovely flavour to this baby carrots recipe.
Garam masala and a dash of lemon juice add an Indian flavour to the air fryer carrots.

Can regular carrots be used instead of Chantenay carrots?
Of course, you can. Even regular baby carrots are a great option too if you can't find these small carrots.
It is essential to cut regular carrots into equal sizes for uniform roasting. The size of the carrots determines how long you need to air fry them. Smaller the size quicker they roast.

Do not forget to remove the basket and shake it well halfway through the roasting to make sure the carrots are well roasted.
Line the air fryer with baking sheet/parchment paper for easy cleaning.
Just a teaspoon oil is enough to roast baby carrots.
It's not necessary to peel these carrots instead scrub them with your fingers while washing to remove any dirt.
