Cooking with kids can be enjoyable, but their safety should be prioritised. Only allow older kids to handle the oven with appropriate mitts if you believe they are capable and keep younger ones at a safe distance while it’s in use. Always supervise kids while they are using the oven. For more details, check out the recipe and safety disclaimer.

Substitutions and Variations

Flavouring Agent: Try cinnamon or vanilla extract instead of cardamom.
Tips and Tricks
Baking time: Be sure to keep an eye on the oven while cookies bake, as the baking time depends on your oven’s settings and the thickness of the cookies.
Spacing: Place cookies on a lined baking sheet with a little spacing between them. Too much spacing is not required, as banana cookies don’t spread much during baking.
Oil: Lightly oil your hands before shaping the mixture into balls to keep it from sticking.
Banana: Use ripe bananas for the best cookies. The riper the bananas, the sweeter and softer the cookies will be. Bananas with spots work best.
Storage
Store banana cookies in an airtight jar at room temperature for 2-3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Allow cookies to cool completely before storing, as trapped moisture can cause condensation in the jar and make cookies soggy.
These cookies taste good when slightly warmed before serving.
