Tips and Tricks
Baking time: Keep an eye on the oven as the cookies bake, since baking time depends on your oven’s settings.
Parchment paper: Placing parchment/greaseproof paper on top and gently pressing helps compact the mixture, even out the surface so that bars bake uniformly. It also improves texture, resulting in cleaner slices after baking.
Press Gently: After placing parchment/greaseproof paper, press gently but firmly to ensure it is compact but not dense like a brick.
Don’t Overpack: Overpacking a baking dish can turn bars a bit heavy instead of soft and chewy.
Dates: Use soft dates so they blend more easily in the food processor. If dates are a little firm, soak them in a bowl of hot water for 8-10 minutes to soften before processing with other ingredients.
Carrot: Add chopped carrots to the food processor to speed up the process, as large chunks take longer to break down and blend with other ingredients, putting extra strain on the motor and making the food processor work harder than necessary.
How To Store 4 Ingredient Carrot Oatmeal Bars?
Store these healthy carrot oatmeal bars in an airtight jar at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Make sure carrot date bars have cooled completely before storing, as trapped moisture can cause condensation in the jar and spoil bars.
FAQ
Yes, you can freeze bars for up to a month. Just thaw them before serving. Arrange them on a lined baking tray with a little bit of space between each piece and freeze until bars are firm. Once firm, transfer bars to a freezer safe container or bag and keep them in the freezer.
