Ingredients

- Tortilla: I have used seeded wholewheat tortilla but feel free to use plain tortilla, chapati or any other flatbread.
- Fresh Fruits and Nuts: Apple, grapes, raspberries, almonds and sunflower seeds.
- Sweetener and Spread: Maple syrup and sweet cheese.
See the recipe card for quantities.
Step By Step Instructions

Step 1: Warm the tortillas on a skillet for a few seconds on each side until they are soft and pliable.
Step 2: Lay the tortilla flat on a clean surface or a plate. Spread a generous layer of the soft cheese over the tortilla, leaving about ½ inch of the edge free.

Step 3: Fill the cheese layer with chopped apple, sliced grapes and raspberries.

Step 4: Now sprinkle almonds and sunflower seeds.

Step 5: Starting from one end, tightly roll up the tortilla. Try to keep the roll as tight as possible without squeezing out the filling.
Step 6: Slice the rolls into ½-inch thick pinwheels using a sharp knife (only adults must do it).

Serve delicious tortilla fruit pinwheels with a glass of masala milk or turmeric milk.
Substitutions and Variations
Fruits: Try different fruits such as mango, strawberries, pear or pomegranate.
Nuts and Seeds: You could use cashews, walnuts, melon seeds or pumpkin seeds instead of almonds and sunflower seeds.
Spices: Add a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom powder to infuse subtle spice to pinwheels.
Sweetener: You could use an alternative sweetener such as agave syrup or honey instead of maple syrup.
Spread: Try any nut butter instead of soft cheese for flavour variation.
Storage
Store leftover pinwheels in the fridge in an airtight container. Finish it off in a day.
Tips and Tricks
Chop Fruits: Make sure fruits and nuts are chopped into small pieces and small fruits sliced into half. This helps reduce the risk of choking hazard for toddlers and pre schoolers, makes it easier to roll pinwheels easily and ensures they hold together well.
Roll Tightly: Roll the tortilla as tightly as possible without tearing it.
Sharp Knife: Use a sharp knife to gently slice the pinwheels without squishing them.
