Pineapple and banana combination
Delicious blend of pineapple, banana and yogurt is prefect as after school snack. Pineapple and banana are two most preferred fruits for smoothies and milkshakes. Tropical flavour of pineapple balances the tastes of sweet and tart. Banana beautifully blends with most of the fruits in any recipe. In this recipe banana has 2 advantages, first it provides the creamy texture that appeals kids, second it naturally provides sweetness to the smoothie and recipe doesn’t actually need extra sugar or syrup which ultimately makes this smoothie healthy.
After school smoothie
Kids need to have healthy snacks after school, I think smoothies are quick and easy option. You really can’t get much quicker energizing option than smoothies. They require just few minutes to whip up and are packed with vitamins, fiber and other nutrients to keep kids fueled until their next meal. This is a great way to boost our kid’s fruits and veggies intake.
However if your kids are like mine, they can be picky about colour, texture, flavour and even the glass you serve in matters!! Based on these factors my daughter categorize dish as ‘yummy’ or ‘yucky’. You can totally customise this recipe to suit your kid’s preference. Be creative to pair up different fruits to pass your kids taste test.
As banana provides sufficient sweetness, my daughter enjoy this smoothie as it is without any added sugar. How to make pineapple banana smoothie
Pineapple: 1 cup, chopped
Banana: 1, peeled and chopped
Yogurt: 1 cup
Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth.
Pour healthy pineapple banana smoothie in your kid’s favourite glass/tumbler and watch them enjoying it!!!
Swap normal yogurt with greek yogurt to get rich and extra creamy texture.
For extra sweetness, add dates or 1 more banana to suit your kids taste buds.
You may add ground cardamom, vanilla extract or ground cinnamon to enhance the flavour.
Scale down pineapple, in case it is more tart.

1 cup = 250ml ; 1 tbsp = 15ml
- 1 cup Pineapple chopped
- 1 Banana peeled and chopped
- 1 cup Yogurt
- Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth.
