Variations and Substitutions

Dates: Add a few dates if the strawberries are too sour to make sure the milkshake is sweet enough to pass your kid’s taste test.

Vanilla Extract: Add a dash of it for extra flavour.

Vegan: For the vegan version, use plant-based milk such as soy, almond, oats or coconut milk instead of dairy milk and use cashew or coconut cream instead of regular dairy cream.

Milk and Cream: Full-fat milk and cream will give you a rich, creamy milkshake. For a lighter, low calorie option, you can switch to low fat milk and cream.

Frozen Fruits: Use at least half frozen strawberries and banana to get a chilled, extra-thick texture.

Consistency: Adjust the milk and cream based on your preferred consistency.

Ice Cubes: Avoid adding ice cubes as frozen fruits are enough to keep the milkshake cold without thinning it. Ice can make milkshakes watery pretty quickly.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this delicious strawberry and banana milkshake as an afterschool snack along with my jeera biscuits, oatmeal pumpkin cookies or coconut biscuits.

It is a healthy, filling and nutritious breakfast to kick start the day. Either serve it alone or along with protein-rich vegetable frittata or breakfast banana split with yogurt.

Add a scoop of strawberry frozen yogurt on top, decorate with some nuts or sprinkles and turn it into an indulgent dessert.
