Nothing could be as simple and easy as this cold brew iced green tea. 4 ingredients and 5 minutes of your spare time is all you need to make it. The only time-consuming part is steeping tea, but the end result is all worth it. The fabulously refreshing tea not only quenches the thirst instantly but also makes you feel relaxed.
What is cold brewed green tea?
As the name suggests, cold brewing means tea brewed with cold water instead of hot water. Cold brewing is a process of gentle steeping that takes longer than hot tea which gets ready in less than 5 minutes. Even though cold brew takes longer, it's worth waiting for its smooth and sweet taste. Unlike hot green tea, cold brewed green tea doesn't turn bitter the longer you steep. You can let the tea steep with this method overnight, so you can drink the refreshing tea in the morning.

How to make iced green tea with tea bags?
Place tea bags and water in a pitcher, close the container and keep it in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours to steep. Steep longer for strong flavour.
When you are ready to serve, remove the tea bags.
Pour tea in a glass with some ice cubes, few slices of lime and few mint leaves.
Notes

You can leave out mint and lime slices, plain iced green tea tastes delicious too.
For a quick version of cold brew, place the tea bags in the pitcher and fill it with ice cubes, let it sit undisturbed. Once the ice melts, your tea is ready to drink.
Sweetened or unsweetened green tea?
I like my green tea without any sweetener as I feel the sweetener tames the earthy flavour of green tea. Add honey, maple syrup, or any sweetener of your choice if you would like your iced tea to be more palatable.
Fancy flavoured green tea? Try adding a dash of cinnamon dolce syrup, pineapple ginger syrup or orange syrup.
