Ingredients

- Dates: Any soft dates work well in this recipe. Make sure to use seedless or remember to take extra time to remove seeds.
- Oats: I have used rolled oats, but porridge oats work as well.
- Oranges: Use fresh oranges that are in season. Both zest and juice are used in this recipe.
- Cocoa Powder: I used unsweetened cocoa powder to make these energy balls decadent.
- Spices: Cinnamon powder to add a hint of spice to the energy bites.

Storage
These orange balls stay fresh for up to 7 days if stored properly in a clean and dry airtight container in the fridge.
For extended shelf life, you can freeze them. Place the rolled chocolate orange balls on a baking sheet and freeze until firm, then transfer them to a freezer-friendly container or ziplock bag. Ensure to thaw them well in the fridge before serving. Consume within 3 months.
Tips and Tricks
Wet Mixture: If you think the mixture is too wet, you can add dry ingredients such as flax meal or oats to help the mixture firm up.
Dates: If you are not using fresh dates, soak the dates for 15-20 minutes in warm water to soften them.
Dry Mixture: If the mixture is too dry and hard to roll into a ball, add a little more orange juice or coconut oil to get the right consistency.
Kitchen Gadget: You have to use either a food processor or a high-powered blender to process the ingredients.
