Ingredients
- Flour: Almond flour has been used here.
- Sweetener: I've used maple syrup but any sticky sweetener works.
- Dry fruits and other staples:
- Liquid: Coconut oil helps while combining the ingredients.
- Nut Butter: I've used almond butter as it works well and gives a lovely texture and intensifies the almond flavour of the energy balls.

Tips and Tricks
Binding Agents:
Sticky Sweeteners: Maple syrup works well to bind the ingredients together. So do not replace it with refined sugar. Adjust the quantity based on your desired sweetness and consistency.
Nut Butter: Almond butter not only add flavour but also act as a binding agent due to their natural oils.
Adjusting Consistency:
Almond Flour Quantity: If the mixture feels too wet, add more almond flour gradually until it reaches a consistency that can be easily shaped into balls.
Liquid: If the mixture is too dry add a few tablespoons of coconut oil or water and stir to combine. Add 1-2 tablespoons at a time, add more if required while combining the mixture.
Rolling Techniques:
Uniform Size: Use a measuring spoon or small scoop to ensure evenly sized balls.
Damp Hands: Slightly dampen your hands with water or oil to prevent sticking while rolling.
FAQ
Of course, you can. Freezing is a great option for a longer shelf life. Freeze energy balls on a baking sheet until solid and then transfer them to a freezer-friendly container or ziplock bag. Ensure to thaw them well before serving. Use up within 3 months.
Although these are used interchangeably in most baked treats, it is not recommended to use almond meal in almond energy balls recipe. Almond meal not only has a coarse texture and dark colour but is made with unpeeled almonds which alters texture and taste.
