Substitutions and Variations

Sweetener: You can substitute maple syrup with agave syrup or honey.

Topping Options: You can swap 0% fat yogurt for full fat yogurt, replace almonds with any other nuts such as walnuts, pecan or cashews and substitute cinnamon with cardamom or nutmeg.

Dairy Free: For dairy free option, substitute regular butter with plant based butter or coconut oil. Replace Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt or any other plant based yogurt.

How to Store Pan Fried Nectarines

Allow pan fried nectarines to cool completely before storing to prevent condensation. Place them in an airtight containerand store in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Tips and Tricks

Nectarines: Choose sweet, ripe but firm nectarines as they hold shape and texture well.

Sweetner: Adjust maple syrup depending on the natural sweetness and ripeness of nectarines.

Frying: Pan fry them over medium heat. Cooking on high heat can burn the fruit and butter mixture instead of allowing it to caramelise properly.

Cooking Time: The time needed to turn nectarines tender depends on the heat level and how ripe they are. Slightly underripe nectarines take longer to cook than fully ripe ones.
