Fruits: Fresh orange and plums. I used purple plums, but you can substitute them with red ones.

Sweetener: I used maple syrup, but feel free to use any other healthy sweetener of your choice.

How To Make Orange Maple Spiced Baked Plums

Step 1: Preheat oven.

Step 2: In a bowl, combine orange juice, maple syrup and spices.

Step 3: Place plums in a baking dish with the cut side facing down.

Step 4: Pour orange spiced mixture over the plums.

Step 5: Bake until plums are tender.

Step 6: Once done, let it cool down slightly on a cooling rack.

Equipment

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Spoon/Whisk
  • 1 Baking Dish

Ingredients

1 Cup = 250ml ; 1 Tablespoon = 15ml ; 1 teaspoon = 5ml

  • 7 fresh plums
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 green cardamom crushed
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • juice from 1 orange freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180 C (350 F).
  • In a bowl, combine freshly squeezed juice from 1 orange , 1 teaspoon maple syrup and 1 star anise, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon , 2 green cardamom and ½ teaspoon ground ginger.
  • Place 7 fresh plumshalved in a baking dish with the cut side facing down.
  • Pour orange spiced mixture over the plums.
  • Place baking pan in the preheated oven and bake 20 – 25 minutes, until plums are tender and syrup has thickened slightly.
  • Once done, let it cool down slightly on a cooling rack.
  • Enjoy maple orange spiced baked plums warm or cold for breakfast or dessert. Spoon warm juice over fruit before serving.
