Is dahi papdi chaat adaptable?
This recipe is totally adaptable according to your taste. You could add chopped green chillies on top to satisfy extra hot food lovers. Add overnight soaked and boiled chickpeas along with other veggies such as tomato, cucumber or you could even swap potatoes with moong sprouts for a healthy option. You could top up this chaat with pomegranate pearls and toasted peanuts for extra crunch and flavour.
1 cup = 250ml ; 1 tbsp = 15ml
Potatoes: 1/3 cup, boiled and chopped
Onion: 1/3 cup, chopped
Sweet tamarind chutney: 1/3 cup
Green chutney: 1/3 cup
Yogurt: 1/3 cup
Sugar: 1 tsp
Chilli powder: 1 tsp
Chaat masala: 1 tsp
To make sweet yogurt, combine yogurt and sugar in a bowl and mix well until smooth.
Arrange papdis in a plate or shallow bowl.
Top it up with boiled potato cubes, chopped onions.
Now top up these papdis sweet tamarind chutney followed by green chutney and generous amount of sweet yogurt.
Sprinkle chaat masala and chilli powder.
Finally garnish with chopped coriander and fine sev.
Enjoy delicious and flavourful dahi papdi chaat immediately.
There is no exact measurements for this recipe. Feel free to add chutneys, spices and veggies as much as you want depending on your preferred taste.
There is no standard procedure to assemble this chaat, such as you may sprinkle little chilli powder and chaat masala before topping papdis with chutneys well. you may top up sweet yogurt first followed by green chutney and sweet tamarind chutney.
