What are the best fruits to dip in chocolate?

Strawberries

Banana

Apple slices

Orange slices

Pineapple

Variations & Substitutions

Nuts: Crushed peanuts, hazelnuts or walnuts add a lovely texture and nutty flavour to the dip.

Vegan: For a vegan version, consider using plant-based yogurt, such as coconut yogurt, instead of dairy yogurt, and swap maple syrup for honey.

Extras: Vanilla extract adds a good flavour.

Serving Suggestions

Serve it in a fruit platter as a dipping sauce.

Goes great with crackers and pretzels.

Use it as a topping on rice cakes.

For a prettier appearance, top dip with assorted nuts, chocolate chips and serve it along with fruit skewers at a kid’s party.

Storage

This chocolate dip stays good for 6-7 days in the fridge if covered properly and stored. However, the yogurt dip may separate a little in the fridge and that’s absolutely normal. Just give it a good stir before serving.

Ingredients

Yogurt: I’ve used greek yogurt because it is thick and creamier. But feel free to use low-fat greek yogurt.

Sweetener: Honey has been used here as it blends well with full-fat yogurt. Feel free to use any healthy sweeteners such as maple syrup, brown sugar, coconut sugar.

Cocoa Powder: I’ve used unsweetened cocoa powder.

Cinnamon: A little ground cinnamon is just enough to add a lovely, warm, spicy flavour.

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, place greek yogurt, cocoa powder, honey and cinnamon. Stir until well combined.

Serve healthy chocolate fruit dip with a choice of fruits in a platter or arrange cocolate dipped fruits in a platter and serve.

Tips and Tricks

Adjust cocoa powder and cinnamon to your taste. Too much cocoa powder makes the dip bitter.

Feel free to substitute honey with coconut sugar, brown sugar, maple syrup or any healthy sweetener of your choice.

You can either serve this chocolate yogurt dip straight away or keep it in the fridge until ready to serve.

Adjust the sweetener as per your taste preference.
