Looking for a refreshing summer drink? Try this watermelon cooler with basil seeds. Perfect for quenching your thirst on scorching summer days and a great option for serving guests at a summer party. It is a nonalcoholic dairy dairy-free drink.
Soak basil seeds in a small bowl with 1/2 cup water for 15 minutes until they absorb all the water and double their size.
2 Teaspoons Basil seeds, ½ Cup Water
Cut each watermelon half into quarters and dice it into cubes, discarding the rind.
2 Cups Watermelon
Add the watermelon, maple syrup, lemon juice and mint leaves to the blender and process for a few minutes or until the watermelon is well blended.
1 Tablespoon Lime/Lemon Juice, 1 Teaspoon Maple Syrup, Fresh Mint Leaves, 2 Cups Watermelon
Place a fine mesh strainer on top of a bowl.
Strain blended watermelon juice by pouring it into a strainer. Stir it with a spoon to speed up the process.
In a glass, add 2-3 spoonfuls of soaked basil seeds.
Now pour watermelon juice over it.
Garnish with a sprig of mint and a slice of lime.
