Spicy yogurt sauce is a versatile condiment that adds a kick to your meals. It's a simple yet flavourful blend of yogurt and spices that works well as a topping or dip. This sauce pairs well with a variety of dishes, from vegetable platters to grilled vegetables, appetisers, sandwiches and wraps.
In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, chilli sauce, olive oil, lime juice, salt and paprika.
1 Cup (or) 280 gms Greek Yogurt, 1 Teaspoon Paprika, Salt (optional), 2 Teaspoons Olive Oil, 1 Teaspoon Chilli Sauce, 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
Stir until well combined.
Taste the sauce and adjust the level of spiciness by adding more hot sauce if desired.
You can also adjust the acidity by adding more lemon or lime juice.
Season the sauce with salt. Keep in mind that hot sauces often contain some salt, so taste before adding additional salt.
Once the sauce is seasoned to your liking, transfer it to a serving bowl.
Serve the spicy yogurt sauce immediately or refrigerate it for later use.
It can be served as a dip for vegetable platter, appetisers, wraps and sandwich.
Notes
Choose the Right Yogurt: Opt for plain Greek yogurt for a creamy and thick base. Greek yogurt works well because of its rich and creamy texture. You can also use regular plain yogurt, but you may need to strain it to achieve a thicker consistency.
Balance the Heat: Start with a small amount of hot sauce and gradually increase to your desired level of spiciness. Different hot sauces vary in heat level, so adjust accordingly. If you're unsure, it's always better to start with less and add more later.
Adjust Consistency: Depending on your preference, you can adjust the consistency of the sauce by adding a little milk, or olive oil to thin it out. This is especially helpful if you want a more pourable sauce.
