Looking for a fun and tasty snack for kids? Try these cranberry walnut wraps! It's perfect to make together with kids and ideal for lunchboxes or after-school snacks.
Warm the tortillas on a skillet or microwave for a few seconds on each side until they are soft and pliable. (only an adult has to do it. Watch out young kids when they are near the hot burner).
1 Tortilla
Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface or a plate. Spread a generous layer of the soft cheese. (Time for kids to take over!)
1 Tablespoon Soft Cheese
Now sprinkle chopped walnuts and cranberries over soft cheese. (this is the fun part for kids, don't forget to watch my toddler having fun in the video!)
2 Tablespoons Dried Cranberries, 4-5 Walnuts
Starting from one end, tightly roll up the tortilla. Keep the roll as tight as possible without squeezing out the filling. (little hands need help rolling up!)
Cut each wrap in half. (only adults should do it)
Serve delicious and nutritious homemade cranberry walnut wraps with a side of yogurt fruit dip, chocolate fruit dip or dates caramel sauce for dipping.
Notes
Don’t Overfill: Ensure that kids don’t overstuff the tortilla with cranberries and walnuts, as it can be difficult to roll it up without making a mess.Helping Hand: Young kids might need assistance from an adult to roll the tortilla tightly to keep it from unrolling.Heat Tortilla: Heat them just until they are warm and pliable. Overheating could cause them to crisp up and become challenging to roll up.
