Orange Simple Syrup – a simple syrup flavoured with orange and mildly spiced with cinnamon and star anise. The orange flavoured simple syrup adds a great flavour and really makes a difference to your drinks and cakes.

1 Cup = 250ml ; 1 Tablespoon = 15ml
- 1 cup Orange Juice
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 stick Cinnamon
- 1 Star Anise

Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and let it simmer over medium-high heat for 10 minutes or until sugar dissolves stirring regularly.
1 cup Orange Juice, 1 cup Water, 1 cup Sugar, 1 stick Cinnamon, 1 Star Anise
Once the sugar dissolves, turn off the heat and allow the syrup to cool down to room temperature.
Store the syrup in an airtight container in a fridge.
Use half a cinnamon stick if you don’t like the strong flavour.
You can use more orange juice to get an intense orange flavour. However, reduce water quantity to maintain 2:1 liquid to sugar ratio.
