Banana Chocolate Overnight Oats

Banana Chocolate overnight oats - an utterly delicious and easy make-ahead breakfast. Great for meal prep and a healthy sweet breakfast perfect on busy mornings.

Equipment

Ingredients

1 Cup = 250ml ; 1 Tablespoon = 15ml ; 1 Teaspoon = 5ml

  • ½ Cup (or) 50 gms Rolled Oats
  • 1 ½ Banana
  • ½ Tablespoon Cocoa Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Maple Syrup
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • a pinch Salt
  • ¼ + ½ Cup Milk
  • 4-5 Walnuts chopped

Instructions

  • Peel and add the banana into a small bowl and mash it with a fork or potato masher.
    1 ½ Banana
  • Add cocoa powder, salt and ¼ cup milk and stir until well combined. Ensure there are no lumps of cocoa powder.
    ½ Tablespoon Cocoa Powder, a pinch Salt, ¼ + ½ Cup Milk
  • Now add oats, vanilla extract, maple syrup and remaining milk and stir well.
    ½ Cup (or) 50 gms Rolled Oats, 2 Teaspoons Maple Syrup, 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
  • Either transfer the oatmeal mixture into a glass and close it with cling wrap or close the bowl with a plate or cling wrap.
  • Keep the bowl/glass in the fridge for 6 hours or overnight.
  • The next day morning, take the oatmeal out of the fridge, top it with banana slices and walnuts and enjoy super delicious and indulgent chocolate banana overnight oats.
    4-5 Walnuts, 1 ½ Banana

Notes

Once you take the oats jar from the fridge, let it stand on the counter for 10-15 minutes to take the chill off if you do not want to consume chilled overnight oats.
Ensure to add sufficient milk to get the creamy porridge-like oats. While preparing you might feel that's too much milk but the next morning it would be of the right consistency as the oats absorb it. 
Do not add too much cocoa powder as it would overpower the flavour and turn oatmeal slightly bitter.
