Chocolate Energy Balls

Chocolate energy balls - a decadent sweet treat made with just 6 ingredients and comes together in 10 minutes. These chocolate coconut energy balls are the vegan, refined sugar-free and guilt-free freezer-friendly snack that makes a great healthy alternative to oil-fried snacks.

Ingredients

1 cup = 250ml ; 1 tablespoon = 15ml ; 1 teaspoon = 5ml

  • 64 gms/ 1 cup Dates pitted
  • 58 gms/ 1 cup Almonds
  • 9 gms/ ⅓ cup Desiccated Coconut
  • 2 tablespoon Cocoa Powder
  • 8 gms/ 3 tbsp Flaxmeal (Ground Flaxseed)
  • 2 teaspoon Coconut Oil

Instructions

  • Place almonds, desiccated coconut in a food processor container and pulse until it reaches coarse powder consistency.
  • Now add dates, coconut oil, flax meal (ground flaxseeds), cocoa powder and continue to pulse until the ingredients combine well and come together.
  • Scoop out a portion from a tablespoon and roll it into a ball and keep it on a lined baking sheet. Continue the process until you finish the mixture.
  • Keep the baking sheet in the fridge for at least 30 minutes for the chocolate energy balls to set.
  • Enjoy guilt-free no-bake energy balls and store the remaining balls in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

These refined sugar-free energy balls keep good for up to 10 days if stored in a clean airtight jar.
You can use cashews, walnuts or pecans instead of almonds. Alternatively, you can use a combination of these nuts.
The natural sweetness from dates is sufficient for me. However, you could add maple syrup, agave syrup, coconut sugar or any sweetener of your choice.
You may have to pause while processing to scrape the date mixture from the sides of the food processor container. Freeze them for longer shelf life. They keep good for up to 3 months.
